332 10th Street, Manhattan Beach
This beautiful Spanish villa style home is located on a quiet and exclusive walk street, just steps
from the beach and downtown Manhattan Beach. The exquisite tri-story residence was custom
designed in 2000 by Jan Bartosik and built by Matt Morris Development to capture the essence
of Spain’s coastal living. The home features 4,894 square feet, with 4 very spacious bedrooms
plus an office, 4 baths and 2 unique powder rooms. The home includes venetian plaster walls,
unique ceiling accents, antiqued travertine tile floors, Brazilian cherry cabinetry, 4 fireplaces,
and wine cellar. In 2010, local designer Talia Frederick, of Talia Interior Designs renovated the
home’s interior to give it a truly custom and modern feel including all new furnishings.
1601 Curtis Street, Manhattan Beach
This beautiful East Manhattan Beach home was built in 2001 in a traditional, yet modern Spanish
style. The residence was designed by Louie Tomaro and built by Mike Davis. The warm and
comfortable California Mediterranean interior was updated in 2011 including all new custom
furnishings and a complete kitchen makeover by Fowler & Moore Interiors. At 5,000 square
feet, this beautiful home has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, three living rooms, and a two car
garage. The home sits on a large, quarter acre corner lot which provides ample outdoor space for
a large patio complete with outdoor fountain and a private sports court.
1556 Prospect Avenue, Hermosa Beach; Saturday & Sunday “Bonus” Home
Otherwise known as “The Green Idea House”, this two-story home was originally built in 1959
and was fully renovated in 2011 into a model for eco friendly living. The comprehensive renovation
was completed with a painstaking focus on green design, featuring sustainable and recycled
materials and solar panels that power highly efficient all electric appliances and heating systems.
Despite increasing the size of the house by almost 60%, the renovation achieved the goal of reducing
the energy load by over 80% and becoming a net zero energy and zero carbon residence. The house was
also named a case study for Southern California Edison’s net zero energy initiative. The home has since
won numerous awards and is widely celebrated for its pioneering ideas in green design.
3516 The Strand, Manhattan Beach
This authentic Tuscan style Strand home was meticulously designed and constructed in 2010 by
Shaun Sexton of Sexton Homes. Every detail of the home was intended to inspire the traditional
style found thorough out the rolling hillsides of Tuscany. This includes utilizing many reclaimed
materials such as bricks, fountains, wood beams and terracotta ceiling tiles which were imported
directly from Italy. The three-story, 5,500 square foot ocean front home features 6 bedrooms, 6
1/2 baths, a full theater, wine cellar, 2 living rooms, 3 car garage, and 2 laundry rooms all with
sweeping, Pacific Ocean views.
