Sugar Plum Tree 2015

Congratulations to Co-Chairs, Laura Stout, Terri Boyle and Gigi Verduzco who did an outstanding job coordinating the Sugar Plum Tree program this year. Through corporate and individual contributions they surpassed their goal and collected over 1,600 gifts for children living in foster care through the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).  It was incredible amount of work that made a difference for many children during the holidays. IMG_9971

Thank you to the SPT Chairs and Committee and allwho participated by getting a company involved, by volunteering at the mall or by bringing a gift to the table.

 

 

Sandpipers Holiday Homes Tour

The Holiday Homes Tour is one of Sandpipers’ largest fundraising events of the year that annually attracts more than 2,000 patrons, and garners tremendous support from numerous local businesses and community partners.  Celebrate the season by taking a tour of four distinctive South Bay homes exquisitely decorated for the holidays. The homes offer a variety of styles that will generate unique decorating ideas for you to try in your own home.

In addition, we are excited to be revitalizing and rebranding our legacy Boutique and Café as the Sandpipers Holiday Market—focusing on local bites, artisan gifts for the season and expanding the shopping experience with holiday entertainment, including a special visit from Santa Claus on Sunday, December 6 from 11am-1pm.

The 2014 Holiday Homes Tour raised over $83,000 for Sandpipers’ philanthropic programs.

Sandpipers Sugarplum Tree 2015

Help us deliver gifts to over 1,800 children in the L.A. County foster system. Visit the Sandpiper Sugarplum Tree in the Manhattan Village Mall and choose an ornament and you’ll be sponsoring one of these children. On the back of the ornament will be a sticker with a gift request. Purchase the requested gift, valued at $30 or under, and return the unwrapped gift to the mall by December 9th. The Sugarplum Tree Mall hours are as follows:

Friday November 27th – Wednesday December 9th

  • Saturdays 9:00 am to 7:45 pm
  • Sundays 11:00 am to 5:45 pm
  • Weekdays from 1:00 pm to 7:45 pm

On Point

Join us for a Fall Fashion Show benefiting Sandpipers!

3:00 p.m.

The Point’s biggest style event of the year, On Point will feature an exciting runway show, after‐parties and special shopping events featuring the must‐haves of the season for both men and women.

Beginning at 3pm with champagne and appetizers provided by The Point restaurants. The runway show will begin at 3:30pm and immediately afterwards, you’re invited to after parties inside of participating stores.

South Bay Philanthropy – Children’s Programs

It’s hard to believe that 2015 is almost half gone! While we look forward to another 6 months in 2015 of exciting fundraising, charitable activities and community outreach, let’s take a moment to recap a very special area of Sandpipers’ South Bay philanthropy for 2014: children’s programs.

2014 South Bay Philanthropy Programs Benefiting Children

In 2014, 2,022+ South Bay children received holiday gifts from the Sugar Plum Tree Program. Additionally, Sandpipers philanthropy enabled 480+ kids from the South Bay area to participate in Summer Arts Programs.

As a result of Sandpiper philanthropy in 2014, 76+ South Bay kids participated in the TeamWorks Beach Party. And, 148+ children in local South Bay school districts received Payless Shoe gift cards through the School Nurse Program.

Many South Bay children also benefitted from the funds raised from local companies (through the Employee Giving Program) for Holiday Baskets for families in need.

An extremely rewarding philanthropy project was Sandpiper’s “Mini Done-in-a-Day Projects” for the Cancer Support Community Kids Room and The Exceptional Children’s Foundation.

Sandpipers South Bay philanthropy also provided over 200 stuffed bunnies for the Annual Egg Hunt. And, Sandpipers participated in Camp Escapades and the Halloween Parade at Pediatric Therapy Network.

Other 2014 South Bay Philanthropy Expenditures Benefiting Children

  • $16,000+ in outreach programs that helped 15 South Bay families in need
  • $16,000+ in outreach to 76 South Bay children for new school clothes, backpacks & supplies
  • $65,000+ in value distributed to over 292 children through the Holiday Baskets Program
  • $190,000 in college scholarships was awarded to 44 South Bay students through Sandpiper philanthropy
