Since 2012, Sandpipers has held an important place in my life and my heart. This amazing organization has given me a structure to make a meaningful difference in my community I call home. It is an honor to be on the Board again this year. I am so grateful to know and work along side this incredible group of women.

I grew up believing that we need to give people a leg up in the world, with a grandmother who spent her life forging new territory in the non-profit world. Now, as a mother of two boys, I know it is important to set an example for them of what it means to be a contribution to others. Today, I am incredibly lucky to be able to use my past business experience as a marketing, sales, and planning executive, and steadfast passion to support the goals of Sandpipers. I am grateful for the flexibility my entrepreneurial life offers as a voice over actor, website developer, consumer researcher, and marketing consultant. Never a dull moment and I love every minute.

I enjoyed seven years in Fundraising Financial, enabling event attendees to contribute to our causes and support our local vendors at Sandpipers' fundraising boutique events. I then led the charge in relaunching our Sandpipers.org site to create a new face for the organization that brought to life every aspect of what it means to be a Sandpiper. My favorite event was during my year on the Philanthropy Committee, when I was responsible for creating our Back To School shopping day, where kids from local agencies shopped with our Sandpipers volunteers. The smiles on their faces are forever etched in my mind as they walked out, bags of new clothes in hand, a new backpack full of school supplies, feeling on top of the world. I was so moved when a few even shared the joy by taking some of their allocated money to buy items for their siblings. Priceless.

I have served on the Board as Secretary, Director of Data Management, and this year as Director of Special Projects, as we venture down an exciting road for Sandpipers to better meet the needs of our membership and community.
