As a child raised in a single-parent household with an incarcerated father, the pressure to succeed and elevate our family always weighed on me. I ultimately became a first-generation college student and remained active in extra-curricular and service activities throughout my schooling. With all of the opportunities afforded to me, the need to give back to others persisted into adulthood.
Through Sandpipers, that need has not only eased, but become fulfilled. Assisting others through Sandpipers feels natural and easy. I’ve been able to engage in activities and interactions that have brought me authentic joy and leave me feeling complete. In this, I’ve also built lasting relationships with so many inspiring women.
I have served as a Holiday Homes Tour Facilitating Committee member, a Holiday Homes Tour Facilitating Chair and an Auction Chair. This year, I am truly honored to continue in my previous year’s role as Director of Holiday Homes Tour. The Holiday Homes Tour is where I fell in love with Sandpipers, and I’m honored to be serving as the Director of our biggest annual fundraiser for the second time. I can’t wait to see our community rally together to raise funds for those that need it most, all the while enjoying a beautiful local tradition.
