I love Sandpipers because it allows me to connect with other women who are passionate about giving back to our South Bay community. It’s a place where I can help others experience the same fulfillment I do and I’m very excited to be the Sponsorship VP this year, as it gives me the opportunity to share even more.
I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with exceptional women in various roles, including serving as a committee member and Chair for Auction, team member for the Meetings & Socials committee, leading Community Outreach, and holding the positions of Fundraising VP and Philanthropy VP.
I moved to the South Bay from Vancouver, Canada. Since I traveled a lot and didn’t know anyone here, I spent most of my time working. I wanted more from life than a career, so I got married, joined a Pilates studio, made some friends, adopted some pets, and became a mom. I still felt a little bit disconnected to the community. Then, in 2018, I joined Sandpipers. My first event was Back to School Shopping, and that’s when I knew I was meant to be a Sandpiper and found my connection. Also, shopping has always been a favorite activity of mine, but seeing a child’s joy over new shoes that would make his feet feel better (as he only owned flip flops) truly touched my heart. Thank you, Sandpipers, for making that happen! I have so many more fabulous stories to tell, so come join me at some of our biggest events, such as our famous Holiday Homes Tour and our Fashion Show, and I’ll share those with you.
